Since opening in 2005, playtime on the Grande Dunes Members Course has been restricted to residents of the Grande Dunes community. Starting in March, however, the course will begin accepting outside play through select Myrtle Beach golf package providers.
This decision comes following a million-dollar renovation project.
“That was one thing we wanted to do,” said Margaret LaCalle, Coastal North Division President of LStar Ventures. “We wanted to make sure everybody who is golfing at the Members Club will have a great experience and also to attract the higher-end clientele.”
The improved course will feature a 40% reduction in bunkers, as well as improved drainage and fresh sand for remaining bunkers.
Designed by PGA Hall of Fame inductee Nick Price and famed architect Craig Schreiner, this semi-private, par-71 masterpiece epitomizes traditional inland style golf. The course offers five sets of tees that range in length from 5,000 to 7,029 yards. Each hole has been painstakingly engineered to provide every golfer the best experience possible. Wide, forgiving bermudagrass fairways wind their way through lush coastal wetlands, leading invariably to luxuriant greens.
For those golfers looking to hone their skills before teeing off, the expansive practice facility features two large practice greens as well as chipping and bunker areas. After finishing your round, unwind in the lap of luxury at the course’s 27,000 sq—Ft. Mediterranean clubhouse.
LaCalle said that LStar hopes to play approximately 35,000 rounds on the Members Club per year combining member and guest play. The public will not be able to call the pro shop for a tee time or book a time on the club’s website.
We are pleased to announce that beginning March 17th; golfers can book their rounds on the Grande Dunes Members Course through the Myrtle Beach Golf Authority. This can be done either book your tee times separately or as part of the exquisite Members Package, which also includes playtime at Dunes Golf and Beach Club and Surf Golf and Beach Club.
