Promotion is not something new for Myrtle Beach golf and there is a new player in the game that is drawing a lot of attention. The Golf Director is a Strand-based internet golf marketing company with a multimedia entertainment network component.
The Golf Director also owns the World Amateur Golf Tour (Carolinas). Golf courses that participate in the WAGT Carolinas are International World Tour, Barefoot Dye, Glen Dornoch, Sandpiper Bay, True Blue, Caledonia, Wachesaw Plantation East, Crow Creek, TPC Myrtle Beach, Carolina National, Rivers Edge and the Grande Dunes Resort Course.
Shan Coughlin is the radio host and sales and marketing director for The Golf Director. This will be the third year for The Golf Director which also has related racing and beach music networks. Jeff Gilder founded all three online entities. The ShagCity site has 3.5 million interactions each month.
The concept for The Golf Director grew out of a desire to provide services to golfers and bringing them together with the people who want to service the golfers while they are here, and giving them a place to meet in a fun and interactive way. TheGolfdirector.com programming has reached 172 countries, all 50 states and more than 25,000 cities.
The site features 24-hour golf talk radio. Each week there are between eight and twelve live shows that replay in a loop. The company’s North Myrtle Beach studio is where the live videos are shot.
Last year there were about 6 million interactions through the Myrtle Beach Golf app, iTunes, You-Tube, Ustream, Roku, Vimeo and Blubrry.
While Myrtle Beach golf is the main focus of the broadcasts, the studio also hosts other platforms.
