Jimmy Biggs is the head golf professional at the award winning Crow Creek Golf Club in Calabash, N.C. The Grand Strand is very fortunate to have Jimmy choose it as the place to practice his chosen profession.
Jimmy was born in Mission Viejo, California and his family moved to New York while he was young. He graduated from Campbell University with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He also was the recipient of a PGA Golf Management Scholarship to Campbell.
Just five months after graduating from Campbell he was offered the head professional position at the Pearl Golf Links in Calabash. Jimmy remained at the Pearl until 2012 when he took over the position at Crow Creek.
Having your avocation be the same as your vocation is a fantastic way to spend your life and that is certainly the case with Jimmy. He lists his favorite special interest as golf instruction.
Jimmy says that meeting new people and the wide variety of golf available are some of his favorite things about living at the beach. When he is not playing golf with friends he also enjoys getting together with them and grilling out.
Some of Jimmy’s other favorites are TPC Sawgrass, the New York Yankees and Notre Dame Football. He lists his favorite restaurants as The Grapevine in Calabash and Joe’s Bar and Grill in North Myrtle Beach. You might also catch Jimmy at Mulligan’s in Little River enjoying a sporting event with his friends.
One of Jimmy’s passions is his three dogs. He has two boxers and one Boykin Spaniel. The Boykin Spaniel is the official South Carolina hunting dog.
Taking things one day at a time and learning from people who have been in the golf business at the beach for a long time are two of the things Jimmy tries to live by.
One thing that everyone appreciates about Jimmy is not only his colorful personality but also his colorful attire. When playing in any golf outing or tournament it is always interesting to see what Jimmy will be wearing. To say that it will be bright and colorful is an understatement. Not everyone could pull this off but Jimmy does it with ease.
Jimmy has really enjoyed his time at Crow Creek and credits having great owners and a great superintendent to making it such a pleasure. He really appreciates everyone’s commitment in turning out a quality product and top quality customer service.
