One of the premier golf courses on the Grand Strand, Heather Glen Golf Links, has a new head professional. Adam Snead became the head professional three months ago and he is very deserving.
Heather Glen, located in Little River, S.C., has been a favorite among locals and visiting golfers for many years and Adam is a great addition to this wonderful facility.
Adam was born in Rockingham, N.C. and grew up in Pierce County, Georgia. After graduating high school he moved to the Myrtle Beach area to be near family and return to the area where he had lived briefly in his childhood. Adam attended Horry Georgetown Technical College and then started his career.
Adam’s golf career began at Marsh Harbor Golf Links in Calabash, N.C. where he served as the cart attendant. Moving up through the ranks he served as assistant professional at both Heather Glen and Shaftsbury Glen and eventually as head professional at Wicked Stick. Adam has worked for the Glen’s Golf Group for ten years and in the past three years has also been in charge of On the Green Magazine’s Tee Times.
Adam shares his life at the beach with his wife Alicia and their two six year old twin daughters, Jamesy and Isabel. I am sure that having two six year olds keeps him very busy. Adam’s wife Alicia is finishing up her second degree in art and is planning on getting her Masters.
The outdoor lifestyle that include being near the water, fishing and golf are Adam’s favorite things about living at the beach and he tries to enjoy them as much as time will allow. Adam’s favorite golf course is the beautiful Glen Dornoch Golf Links that is also located in Little River and offers outstanding holes along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Adam also enjoys following his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. When dining out he likes Benito’s in North Myrtle Beach. Adam also has an interest in art and he did much of the art and design in Benito’s when it built its new restaurant a few years ago.
The main goal for Adam at Heather Glen is to provide excellent customer service and a great experience to all, from the time they arrive at the course until they depart. I recently played Heather Glen and that is exactly what my wife and I experienced.
When he eventually fulfills his career achievements and goals Adam would like to retire in the Caribbean and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle offered there.
As stated earlier, Adam is an outstanding addition to Heather Glen and if you plan on visiting the Myrtle Beach area on your next golf vacation, be sure to include Heather Glen and meet this fine young professional.
