If you ever engage in a conversation with people in the golf community in Myrtle Beach you will notice that one person’s name continually is mentioned and that is Billy Cole. Billy is a very dynamic and interesting person to meet.
Billy was born in Burlington, N.C. and moved to the beach over 30 years ago to be close to his brother Wayne and also because of his love of the beach and the ocean.
Billy has two sons, Jeremy who is a senior at The College of Wooster in Ohio and Clint who is serving in the infantry in the Marines.
When Billy first moved to the beach he held several different jobs including bartending at the old Spanish Galleon, The Afterdeck and 2001 Night Club. He has been extensively involved in the golf industry for over 30 years. His experience ranges from day to day operations to managing partner. He was a Managing Partner at Myrtle West Golf Club in 1988 and opened it in “89. Thee sold the course in 2000 and it became Black Bear Golf Club. He has a broad history of marketing promotions, public relations, print media and vacation packaging. He is actively involved in 20 or more golf tournaments a year.
He represents over 30 properties from golf courses to vacation resorts from Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head to Pinehurst to the Carolina Mountains through “Carolinas Golf and Vacation Resorts”. He attends 12-15 golf travel and vacation shows each year across the United States and Canada. These shows keep him current with what is new and emerging in the golf and travel industry. Billy has developed strong skills for lead generation through the internet, print media, social media and golf packaging through the Carolinas.
Billy is also the co-owner of a magazine called “Traditions magazine” this is the Ultimate Visitors and residents Guide to the Pinehurst area. He is also co-owner of Myrtle Beach Golf Directors, a golf packaging company in North Myrtle Beach.
Throughout the years Billy has developed strong contacts in the golf and travel communities through professional business practices and has also acquired quite a reputation as an outstanding, inspiring leader and is respected and admired among his constituents.
Billy lists some of his favorite courses to play as The Surf Club, Heather Glen, Tidewater, Arcadian Shores and The Dunes Club. Some of his favorite restaurants are New York Prime, Greg Norman’s and California Dreaming.
When it comes to his favorite sports teams it is definitely NC Tar Heels basketball and South Carolina Gamecocks in football.
