TPC Myrtle Beach has been named the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association’s Course of the Year. The MBAGCOA based their judgement on four key criteria: quality of the golf course, quality of the ownership and management, contribution to the community, and contribution to the game.
Out of the Grand Strand’s over 100 championship golf courses, TPC Myrtle Beach was recognized it’s unrivaled quality and overall contribution to the Myrtle Beach golf community.
This is hardly the first accolades that the fabled course has received during its illustrious career. When the course first opened in 1999, Golf Digest recognized it as one of “America’s Top 10 New Upscale Public Courses. Most recently, the course earned distinction when it hosted the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Myrtle Beach Regional in May. To date, TPC Myrtle Beach is the only Grand Strand golf course to receive a 5-Star rating from golf digest magazine.
“From course conditions to customer service and the quality of the facility, TPC Myrtle Beach is richly deserving of being named golf course of the year,” said Tracy Conner, Executive Director of the MBAGCOA.
Designed by world renowned architect, Tom Fazio, TPC Myrtle Beach was opened as a joint venture between PGA Tour Properties and Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. The course is a 6,950-yard, par-72 juggernaut offering a “Tour quality” experience any golfer who plays it. Winding its way through towering pines, water hazards and strategic bunkering, the immaculate fairways and greens are as breathtakingly beautiful as they are challenging.
