Mystical Golf’s three courses, The Witch Golf Club, The Wizard Golf Course, and The Man O’War Golf Club are all going to be getting some improvements over the summer.
Due to the heavy flooding over the past two years in October, The Witch Golf Club has had damage to the cart paths. They will be repairing and repaving those paths with damage as well as repaving around the entire course later this year. They will close the course for a day or two come mid-June for aerification and the work will be done during this time. After the aerification they will also be single-teeing for a few days to allow workers a few hours each day to finish up the work that might be leftover.
The Wizard golf course has just completed a project to rebuild the sand traps – the goal was to lessen some of the severe lips on the bunkers. Not to be left out, they are also going to be rebuilding and reshaping the sand traps at Man O’War Golf Club as well. In addition to the sand trap work at Man O’War, they also received a new fleet of carts, and back in January and February of this year completed a project to rid their bent-grass greens of an infiltration of poa-annua grass.
According to the president and CEO of DG Golf Management, Claude Pardue, which operates the three Mystical Courses, “The greens putted fine but they got real ugly for about a month, but now they’re perfect.”
The president and CEO went on to say, “I believe for golf courses to survive in our industry operators have to get their courses in really good shape at the least expense possible. Sometimes you have to do things in stages.”
All three of these Myrtle Beach golf courses are a treat to play. Whether you are in town for your family vacation and just looking a golf break with a fun day on a course, or looking for an exciting Myrtle Beach golf package, adding any of these three courses will make you happy.
